There's something nice about Fishguard, (not just cause it has a fab wool shop!) even though the name sounds fishy so probably best to use its Welsh name, Abergwaun.
Stayed in Fishguard for just one night on this trip, the weather is always lovely in Fishguard and it's so nice to stroll by the harbour and see where the ferry leaves for Ireland. I feel a strange sense of freedom in Fishguard, maybe because it's a place for journeys across the sea.
Hadn't eaten out in the town before but prior to the trip I read a review about a restaurant which sounded hopeful and it was rather nice. The place was The Lounge @ No. 3 and whilst the veggie choice was limited the food was very good and reasonably priced. I had a garlicky mushroom dish for starters, followed by a spaghetti dish and chased with some lovely brownies & ice cream, served on a slab of slate. The decor was cool & classy and the rear windows looked across the bay. Shame it was so quiet for such a nice place but maybe the season hasn't kicked off yet.

Ah I see you're a veggie, me too! Your meal sounds delicious. :)

Hi Vivienne, I think I'd guessed you were a veggie too. I'll have to share one of my simplest & tastiest veggie recipes with you (if you like olives that is).
Not too keen on olives, but my husband and son love them, so share away! :)
