Thanks to everyone who joined in here and on FB in helping me decide which fabric to enter into the competition. The one with the most votes was the above which I've called Retro Pixel.
This particular competition is this weeks Spoonflower contest but it's a bit different to normal because the winning fabric is to be used by a US clothing company with bigger bucks at stake. After a week of voting it will go down to the top 10 before a winner is revealed, I'll keep you posted!
I'm also waiting for samples of a new fabric I have designed, again butterflies seem to be quite popular with me at the moment, this is called Butterfly Waltz in pink, maybe more colours will follow when I see the samples.
The weather looks promising today making me think summer is still here but I'm really noticing the nights drawing in. I'm doing a lot of sewing on a night and I've noticed I'm struggling with the natural light by 8pm and it feels like I've lost an hours evening sewing time since July, grrrr!
Hopefully it will stay nice for the weekend as I haven't really been anywhere much for months and I feel the need for a bit of culture (not the theatre or ballet I need to point out, not my thing at all!) I reckon a gallery and a change of scenery will suffice.

I made a last minute decision to visit the Festival of Vintage, based on the weather and OH working today. So pleased I braved the showery weather as it was equally as wonderful as last year.
I got to meet some of the ladies who produce the excellent Pretty Nostalgic magazine and I treated myself to a bargain rate subscription, and I got their lovely Home book for signing up. This is going to be a joy to receive every couple of months.

Between the showers I snapped a few of the amazing cars with all their chrome, tails and fins shining.
Don't this couple look impossibly stylish and next to that great car too!
Maybe not quite as many home or furniture displays as last year but interesting all the same.
Ceramics were out in force, quite a bit of Hornsea pottery, this was by far my favourite stall. The stall holder was from Leeds and she shared my passion for Scandinavian ceramicists, she also had fabric too, my kind of stall!
This was the piece of fabric I bought from her stall, it's so groovy.

Lots of screen printed work by Hull Traders, Eames and some lovely old Laura Ashley pieces, mega bucks if you wanted to buy Hull Traders work.
This was some of my haul from their stall, bit of Laura Ashley Emma and some pretty floral.
From another stall, this groovy piece and pretty pins.
At this point my purse was screaming and my head was so overwhelmed with colours and pattern that I decided to call it a day, it was fabulous.

The last couple of days I've been working on some camping illustrations for my fabric design entry into this weeks Spoonflower contest. The theme as we near the end of summer is of course camping.
I have gone down the route of retro caravans and tents and in digital collage style I have jazzed up my drawings with vintage and retro fabric.
Here is the work in progress, I'm currently preparing the artwork at fat quarter size and trying to get the pattern to repeat. Finished designs coming soon.
At the moment I'm eagerly awaiting printed swatches of my latest fabrics to arrive from Spoonflower.
I've done more of my vintage collage fabrics, below is a children's themed one using mainly old birthday cards
next we have the vintage stamp collection
then we move to a more romantic theme of antique postcards and other vintage finds
below is a fat quarter which will be available to buy soon that gives you a different design in each quadrant
I then created some different colour variations for my vintage ice cream van fabric.
Lastly, more colour variations for the 1950's chairs & bunting fabric.
