Today was another open day at the straw cottage and it looks even better. Carol has gathered some great pieces of furniture from the charity shops and the classified ads.
The hedgerows were looking lush with berries and Carol allowed me to go brambling around their fields. I found the most amazing sloes which were more like damsons and bigger than a 10p piece, got some brambles but there were lots of wasps on them, and also gathered some hawthorn berries with the idea of making hawthorn jelly.
It's so exciting to gather food for free, the peace and quiet in the fields was just lovely with perfect weather too.
